Volunteering with Ability Inclusion Services is a meaningful way to give back to the community while connecting with the incredible individuals we serve. Whether you're sharing a hobby, lending a hand in the home, or joining us on a community outing, your time makes a real difference. You just might walk away with a new perspective and some new friends.
We offer flexible volunteer opportunities across our Day Program, Residential Program, and Community Inclusion services. Here’s how you can get involved:
Day Program Opportunities
Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Join us at our Activity Center and share a skill, hobby, or talent with our participants. Volunteers are welcome to assist us or teach one-time or recurring sessions in areas like cooking, art, life skills, music, dance, exercise, or whatever you're passionate about.
Residential Program Opportunities
Weekdays: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Weekends: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Residential volunteers help support individuals in their homes or during community activities. This might include cooking meals, going for walks, going to the bowling alley, or simply spending time socializing and engaging.
Community Inclusion Program
Typically Mondays & Fridays, Morning and Afternoon
We offer 4–5 outings per week, exploring places like museums, festivals, local attractions, parks, and more. Volunteers are welcome to join when outings are scheduled (note: admission fees are not covered), offering additional support and companionship along the way.
Group Volunteer Projects
If your group is interested in volunteering, reach out to see what the current needs are. Past group projects have included yard work, painting, and deep cleaning at our residential sites.
Volunteer Testimonial – Pamela Koffel
"Volunteering at Ability Inclusion Services has absolutely been THE highlight of my life. When I walked into the Day Program that first day, I had no idea how tremendously my life would be impacted. The incredible people not only touched my heart from that very first day – they have each and every time I’ve spent time with them since. They remind me what is truly important in life, and they teach me about the kind of person I want to be. They are the utmost examples of what it means to be good, genuine, and full of love."

"The men and women at AIS are also kind, curious, caring, funny, thoughtful, and full of gratitude, grace, and acceptance. I am constantly impressed and inspired by their tenacity, perseverance, and positivity. It is beyond heartwarming to see their smiles and feel their sense of accomplishment when they’re enjoying an activity, learning a new skill, or doing something they haven’t done before. Spending time with them – whether it is at the Day Program or the Residential Program – is truly my happy place. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to assist them in any way that I can. Most importantly, I am completely and totally honored and proud to be their friend.”
